A carpenter took my money away

Hi I recently had some furniture work. I got a local carpenter number. He took 150 rinngits from me to buy stuffs reqd for repair. Now he is not coming he just keep ignoring my call. I know his name and his number is still active. Please help me out should I report this to police or what to do in this scenario.
