From what I have read in the net and various forums seems like Panama is pretty expensive compared to other latin American countries as for example Ecuador.
I read car rental is between $40 to $80 a day and most hotels in PC are above $150/day. I understand that if you live there or know your way you can find cheaper rates but for us that all we have is the net, books or tour guides and realtors it seems pretty expensive. Can anyone provide any additional information on this topic? How about the cost of private health insurance and maid services? I understand gasoline is also expensive.
Is PC, David, Boquete, Volcan, Del Toro, el valle and Coronado the only places to live there?They seem high cost tourist or high cost expats gated communiities?
