Pedasi area living

My husband and I are researching a move to Panama in about four years. We are interesting the Pedasi area. Will make our first visit in 2017. Where to stay? Car rentals to see the area?
I see developments were being started a few years ago but don't find more recent information. Did they flop or still growing? We are not really development people, there is too much of that here in the states. We are probably looking for less development. But still have the ability to rent a small 2 bedroom casita. Just curious. All information on the area is greatly appreciated ?? Thank you!????
