Renting in Cascais-Estoril - how else besides agents?

Hi there:

I will be emigrating very shortly to Portugal and will be wanting to rent a 3 (maybe 2) bedroom apartment in the Cascais - Monte Estoril area.

My dealings online with agents in Portugal thus far have been A DISASTER. What other ways are there to try and rent a property in Cascais without using an agent or using online property sites? A local newspaper perhaps? Other ways?
