How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

In 2019 ISB moved to newly renovated building with a wonderful playground and nature area, a gym, a cafeteria, a library, a media/performing space, art rooms, etc. Students are assigned an iPad for use during the school year and technology is a part of the curriculum. ISB has offered a variety of extra curricular after school including music lessons, jujitsu, art, drama, coding, chess, football/soccer and running club.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

The teachers are very responsive to parent concerns. Extra language support is available. There is also a counselor available for social and emotional support as needed. For repatriation, I am not aware of a specific program, but I spoke with the teacher and school principal regarding my child and what might best serve him.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

During our time at ISB the PTO was active, though some activities were hampered by the COVID19 pandemic.. The PTO typically hosts at least a Welcome Back BBQ, a Christmas Craft Fair, International Food Night, and some thing in the Spring. PTO met once a month to plan and socialize. When possible, parent coffees and other family events were held. Many parents also met informally, after school on the playground.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

It is a wonderful school with small classes and a true feeling of community. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to the teacher, principals or director. They are very responsive and happy to meet with you.
