By British American Cattle Company
Austin, Tx./Belize City, Belize - The British American Cattle Company (www.bacc.com), a sister company to Belize Development Company, announced today the donation of more than 180 acres of prime property to the Belize Audubon Society. The property has an appraised value of $290,000US.
The donated land is located in Central Belize (mile 35 on the New Northern Highway); it is adjacent to the Crooked Tree Bird Sanctuary and British American's Northern Lagoon Subdivision.
"We are honored to donate this unique acreage to the Belize Audubon Society so that they may enlarge the Crooked Tree Bird Sanctuary and further protect the many bird species and wildlife in the area," said Ron Forrester, Marketing Director for the company.
According to Forrester, the donated property also has approximately 4300 feet of water frontage on the Northern Lagoon. "This is the first of what may be several future property donations made by the British American Cattle Company and/or the Belize Development Company," he said.
Austin, Texas-based British American Cattle was formed in 1986 when it began selling interior acreage tracts of 20 to 100 acres in its' Estevez Works Subdivision located on the Old Northern Highway near the village of Maskall. The company later developed and sold acreage tracts in their Revenge and Northern Lagoon Subdivisions. "Although we still have some acreage tracts for sale, most of our efforts are focused on our resort subdivision, Sittee Point," commented Forrester.
Sittee Point is located about 50 miles South of Belize City where the Sittee River comes down from the mountains and meets the Caribbean. To date, Sittee Pont has three hotels, a marina and about 20 homes built or under construction. Future development plans include a golf course, condominium project and entertainment center.
"Our Section 4 is the last phase of the Sittee Point Development and may be the most unique property in Belize with Caribbean Sea frontage and a canal in back for protected boat dockage and easy access to the Sittee River and Caribbean," Forrester commented. "All tracts have water and electricity and we are able to offer owner financing up to 20 years. Although Belize is not for everyone, investors are attracted to Belize because of its' English Common Law roots, strong banking system with ties to the US Dollar, and ease of actually owning real estate."
