IB World School (International, western curriculum)

What grade levels are represented at this school?

Pre-kindergarten-12

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Day students: school bus, walk, parent drop off Dorm: Over 200 students live in dorms (grades 6-12). Total over 600 students.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Currently building brand new campus, outstanding facilities planned. Opening in 2011

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

TCIS uses the IB curriculum for elementary, middle and high school, which values a global perspective. Includes English, Korean, Spanish and Mandarin, including teaching literature in Korean for high school. Repatriation to English-language institutions should be no problem.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

Strong Parent-Teacher Association with a dedicated parent counselor to assist parents in supporting their children educationally. Lots of opportunity for expat parents to volunteer on campus.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

It is a Christian school, so Bible and chapel are required, but the faculty have a broad range of Christian beleifs, and many students are non-Christians, so there is openness to many faith stances. It also has very strong academics and is very demanding, especially in the upper grades.
