What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?
Try to stay close to the grocery store if you're with a family as stores close early and traffic can be extremely damaging to your day! Be prepared with your health records, and extra copies of everything!
What type of housing do you live in? Is this typical for most expats in your area?
We live in an apartment. This is very common here in Martinique. Most homes double as apartments as well.
How did you choose your neighborhood and find your home or apartment?
It took us sometime to find the right neighborhood. The carribeans aren't like USA. Most areas are really simalar. We had to change our expectations on focus on our overall needs not wants. For example - with seven kids it's more important to live next to the grocery store rather than the playground.
