Requirements for Foreigners to Drive in Bulgaria
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must hold a valid driver's license from their home country. Licenses issued in EU/EEA countries are recognized in Bulgaria.
- For licenses issued outside the EU/EEA, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required in addition to the home country's license.
- Must carry the original driver's license and IDP (if applicable) while driving.
- Must have valid insurance that covers driving in Bulgaria.
Obtaining a Bulgarian Driver's License
