Invitation for a Survey Study

We are asking you to participate in a research study. The purpose of this consent form is to give you the information you will need to help you decide whether to be in the study or not. Please read the form carefully. You may ask questions about anything that is not clear. When we have answered your questions, you can decide if you want to be in the study or not. This process is called informed consent. We will give you a copy of this form for your records.

This is a survey study designed to investigate dual business negotiations in national and international settings. It is required for the fulfillment of the requirements of my Ph. D dissertation. The study is a first step in a large research project that will benefit the practice and research of management. It will provide an instrument to estimate negotiators styles. This instrument will provide a vital tool to estimate styles before hand. This tool will save organizations the painful cost of negotiation failure that may be millions of dollars. For research, the instrument will be used for multiple future investigations that will substantially contribute to the development of negotiation research and education.

Answering the questions will take only 20 minutes. It may take more or less time based on your speed. Your answers will be confidential and will be used for research and publishing only. You are not required to provide any personal contact information in answering the survey. The researchers will have access to anonymous answers of all participants just for conducting statistical analysis and the data will be destroyed after the study.

Please find the link to all questions at:
http://www.hostedsurvey.com/takesurvey.asp?c=Negoti16464722on2

If you decide to respond by regular mail, please e-mail or call the first investigator and Ill send you a hard copy with a free return envelop.

This study has been approved for human participation by the WSU IRB. You can ask for a copy of the consent form. If you have questions regarding your rights as a participant you can call WSU Institutional Review Board at (509) 335-9661.

You will discover a lot about yourself after answering the questions. You are welcomed to discuss your responses with me if you feel you want to learn more about yourself.

Please respond to all the questions. Please have my respect and regards,

Eman ELShenawy
Dr. Stergios B. Fotopoulos.
