Bahamas vs Barbados

Post New Topic

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone might have an opinion on this topic. I'm Canadian, trying to decide between these 2 islands where to move to in the next 2 months. I've been reading about the safety in Bahamas, and of course it worries me greatly. I prefer Nassau, giving the economic role it has, however the news coming out of New Providence are not encouraging. I am aware that media must be taken with a grain or two of salt, but ...Also, could anyone suggest a health insurance suitable to the Caribbeans and Central America?
Your input will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

mish...I would suggest you live in each...for a minimum of 30 days. Rent an Airbnb, so you won't be living like
a tourist. Spend a week-you are a tourist. Spend a month=you'll get a "real feel" for what is life like here. These two(2) islands have completely different vibes & lifestyles(been to both & spent some time there). Good luck !

Great recommendation by Skyman.. the other thing to consider is whether you are intending to work wherever you move to. If so, there are laws in both countries with regards to work permits that you will need to research.

Totally agree with SKYMAN. Completely different Vibes. If proximity to USA is important to you then Bahamas is a no-brainer. I have travelled extensively to both and lived in Nassau for 8 years now. Two different worlds. Debi
