Retiring to la ceiba beach

Hi hope you don't mind me jumping in here I also have concerns about Honduras.I am single and the builder assures me la ceiba beach homes. Are secure...any help would be appreciated.in the u.s. People think it is crazy to even consider this move as a single women..please help
