Hello
I have been reading your posts and am finding them to be very helpful. I am a soon to be college graduate and I want to move to Ireland. I'm not sure how hard it is for a recent graduate to find work, or if it is even worth it for me to try. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks. Colleen

You don't say where you live, so I'll presume the USA. (If you live in the EU, you just move to Ireland).
A recent college graduate can get a 'blue card' to work in Ireland. There's a fee for this of around $350. You contact Council Travel and they will get you set up. The fee includes an initial session in Dublin with the company, and a certain amount of guidance, job finding and the like. There's a book for sale by them that outlines the procedure. The name is something like Working Abroad. --Joe in Donegal

Top o the morn'n to ya! Gosh did that sound authentic or just cheesey? Needless to say I as well am very interested in relocating to Ireland, preferrably Dublin if possible but I am flexible..

I am an American citizen who graduated from college 15 years ago which hopefully does not make me over the hill? Currently I am visiting friends in Switzerland and have already been in the EU since April 19, 2005.

I am hoping that my flying out of a non-EU country such as Switzerland and the fact that I have a guest visa from Austria will mean that I can fly into Ireland without any immigration problems.

With all being said, I would like to locate someone who might have a place to stay while I look for work, possibly an elderly person who might have a need for a care-giver(have experience) in exchange for low rent.

Any time or cooperation regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Colleen, I to am interested in going to Ireland to work for a while. I have been looking on Bunac.com which has some good links. Also, monster.com is helpful. If you would like to discuss this further, send me a note. Maybe we can help each other out.

Thanks

Dom
