Furniture/Compatible Appliances

We will be moving next year to Ireland from the U.S. We have heard that items such as furniture and kitchen appliances are so much more expensive to buy over there. We will be renting at first, and so I wonder whether it would make sense to buy the furniture and appliances (if compatible ones can be found) here first, while we can afford it, and store them somewhere over there until we get our house.

Does anyone know anywhere in the U.S. where we can buy (maybe over the Internet?) appliances, like fridge, TV, oven that would be compatible with the electricity in Ireland?

Thank you!
