Job Prospects after Grad School

I received an offer to attend grad school in Dublin next fall (2018) in an engineering program. I have accepted the offer and plan to live and work in Ireland once I graduate. Ireland allows graduates to stay in the country for 12 months to find a job, but I am worried about how difficult it may be to find a job. Specifically, I will be pursuing a career in the pharma industry after having worked for 4 years as a chemical engineer in the US. Does anyone (non-EU) have any experience with finding a job after grad school? Thanks!

It is my opinion you will find a job as Ireland has many Pharma companies that moved there due to low tax situation. However, your problem will be finding a place to stay while going to grad school. Best you concentrate on first things first. Read some of the other posts and answers to get an idea what you will be up against. Maybe you should contact some of the Pharma companies that are in the Dublin area and maybe they might be willing to hire you part time while going to school hoping to get you after you finish. Also, the school may have some sort of arrangements with some of the Pharma companies so you should check with them now. And someone at the school may be able to help with finding living quarters too.

Just noticed a blog entry on tech industry in Dublin on the home page for Dublin here on this site. If you select Dublin above in the box underneath EE Ireland, it will take you t here. Best of luck.
