decisions, decisions

My husband and I are considering buying property as a long term investment. Something we can rent out/ vacation/retire to. Right now we are considering France. Looking for objective opinions, input, other suggestions. We won't be moving permanently for about seven years, as our son is still in high school.

Thanks in advance!

Susan
