Bootsnall and many other sites geared to travelers who are unable to speak the local language or simply require guide services for a few days contact long term expat bloqqers in the area in which they wish to travel, a great sideline for resident expats who have transportation or local drivers for large groups, good way to keep occupied and make some extra money, be sure you are familiar with your city, area, region and country and speaking local language above basic is a must.
You will run into some travelers from home who have heard 'ex pats' lounge in hammocks all day long drinking Margaritas and Beer and that many are on the 'run' from the law at home, in fact many 'ex pats' in my region volunteer full or part time and give back to the community, so if planning to travel for relocation find 'ex pats' who are not selling nor renting Real Estate to perhaps guide you around, go shopping, look at rentals in the area and befriend locals, who may be your neighbors, this is the 'First Step', not an overpriced 'Relocation Seminar' in a luxury hotel and a 'Real Estate Tour', if relocating you will need a mentor you can trust and can talk to one on one, not in a large group. Back in 1991 when Internet was in its infancy, I was a reporter for a multi lingual Central American tourist newspaper based in Costa Rica, and viewed first hand how the Real Estate 'cons' (mainly Americans and Canadians, few of them legal residents) set up newbies to 'sign here, before all the lots are sold'
I also was a for a brief time in the 1980s in the halycon days when Pete Hammill from my hometown was Editor of now defunct 'Mexico City News' saw the same type of American and Canadian hustlers operate in some areas of Mexico. I will always continue to advise those wishing to relocate, retire, invest or work abroad to travel to your destination in advance, in Latin America, where I reside, connections and friendships are more important than money in some cases. Remember, no matter where you plan to relocate, you have 8 hours to sleep and the other 16 hours? Do your homework, if just planning to travel and look ask Mr. Google about Ex Pat Bloqs, hundreds of excellent ones on this site alone, finally my advice for those planning to move to Latin America

either way, buen viaje, bon voyage, gute reise, good trip.
