UK expat views on tax/banking -- Guardian articles
13 years ago
Hello, I'm a London-based freelance journalist and am writing some articles for a new Guardian web site on expat life.
I'm keen to include some quotes from UK expats (still abroad) on the following:
Tax: what are the challenges of managing tour tax affairs when abroad. Any tips?
Banking: is it hard to open a bank account abroad? How long did it take? Do you use an offshore bank account as well as a local one, and possibly a UK one?
Living costs abroad: How do you budget for extra costs of living abroad -- for example private education for children, healthcare. Does your employer pay for it, or have you had to take about private insurance?
It'd be great to get insider views/tips from expats.
I'd like to quote your full name and country you live in, plus your line of work, although it may be possible to use a pseudonym. My deadline is 5pm UK time today (8 Feb)
