Bring my car to Sri Lanka

Hi, my wife is Sri Lankan and we are presently living abroad. We would like to spend 6-12 months in Sri lanka starting late next year.

I want to bring a car into Sri Lanka for our personal use - I know cars are quite expensive there. Are there any duties / taxes that I need to pay - if so, how much?

When I leave, will I be able to leave the car behind with my wife's parents so that we can use it whenever we return to Sri Lanka. Will my wife's father be allowed to use the car when we are abroad?

Your advice will be appreciated.

Thanks
Vela
