A 26 year old and his dog

Good Morning,
This is an email I wrote to a travel blogger hoping they could help. I edited it a bit for this thread. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I have hit a bit of a rough patch in my life. I am 26 years old and just got out of an eight year relationship. Without getting into too much detail, the relationship ended abruptly and the wrongdoings of her.
I currently head a sales division in the mid-atlantic region but this experience has taught me that I have been trapped by dogma and living up to others expectations. Mark Twain said that twenty years from now, we will be more disappointed about what we didn't do then what we did. While my situation is not ideal, it has afforded me the opportunity to travel and see the world. More importantly, its afforded me opportunity to get away and find out who I truly am.
My dog, Bo, and I are looking for an affordable "paradise" to begin again. While I have mostly worked in the corporate world, I grew up working in seafood restaurants and on the water in Annapolis, MD. I am simply looking to fall off the map for a little while, get an hourly job with very little stress, and live my life again.
With that being said, is there any advice or are their any little towns or destinations that come to mind?
Any help would be much appreciated.
