US expat to be: Have electronics, where can I go?

We have numerous special electronics that we need to bring with us, eventually. We have found that we get inspired about the possibilities of one country, only to find out that we will have to pay a huge IVA/VAT/Import duty in order to bring/ship our stuff. We need these items for work, and we are not yet wealthy. What I am trying to find is a country that doesn't have a problem with this type of thing. Keep running into roadblocks. Many of these items are not going to be able to be carried on a plane. Any help with ideas for country possibilities would be much appreciated.
