Nicaragua?

I'm curious if Nicaragua is still okay to retire to. Seems to be never-ending, constant political turmoil. I read that in June 2022, El Presidente Ortega stated that he welcomes foreign tourism & retired expats to Nicaragua and that his nation is safe and welcoming to all law abiding persons. I plan to visit for 90 days first. If you are now living in Nicaragua or have permanently left this year, can you give me any "recent" pros & cons of an American retiring there. Would you personally recommend to your own friends & family members to retire in Nicaragua? Thanks!
