I'm going to be shipping my household goods to Panama and I'm wondering if I should save old receipts for items? When they assess fair market value for taxing, do you think this will even matter? I've heard it's just random what they decide to assign values for. Anyone have experience with this?

If you have the receipts, I'd hang on to them just in case. I doubt it will have any bearing on how they assess things, but you never know. I think it's always best to have as much documentation as possible in that situation, as was recommended to me by the moving company we used https://threemovers.com/panama-international-moving-companies/ Might be worth a call to see if they can shed some light on it. At the very least they should be able to direct you where to go to find the right info
