By Joshua Wood, LPC

Last updated on Jan 04, 2024

Summary: People describe life in Grenada as peaceful, laid-back, and beautiful. Expats love the warm climate, friendly locals, and the fact that it is a relatively safe place to live. The cost of living for an expat in Grenada is relatively low, with the average monthly expenses for a single person estimated to be around $1,000 USD. The population of Grenada is approximately 112,000 people, and the largest cities are St. George's, Gouyave, and Grenville. The cons of living in Grenada include the lack of job opportunities, the limited public transportation, and the fact that the cost of living can be higher than in other Caribbean countries. Additionally, the infrastructure is not as developed as in other countries, and the healthcare system is not as advanced.

What do I need to know about living in Grenada?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Grenada, they said:

"Before retiring in Grenada, expats should be aware of the cost of living, which is generally lower than in the United States and other developed countries. Expats should also research the local healthcare system and the availability of medical services. Additionally, expats should familiarize themselves with the local culture and customs, as well as the climate and weather patterns. It is also important to research the local banking system and the availability of financial services. Finally, expats should be aware of the visa and residency requirements for living in Grenada," said one expat in Grenada.
