Real Estate in Azerbaijan

By Joshua Wood, LPC

Last updated on Feb 03, 2024

Summary: An expat looking to buy a home in Azerbaijan should begin by researching the local real estate market. They should look for listings on websites such as Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor.com. Additionally, they should consider contacting a local real estate agent who can provide more detailed information about the local market. Foreigners are allowed to purchase property in Azerbaijan, however, they must obtain a permit from the State Committee for Property Issues. The permit is valid for three years and can be renewed. Houses in Azerbaijan typically include amenities such as air conditioning, central heating, and modern appliances. Many homes also have balconies, terraces, and gardens.

How do I find a place to live in Azerbaijan?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"One of the best ways to find a place to live in Azerbaijan is to search online for rental listings. There are many websites that offer listings of apartments, houses, and other types of rental properties in Azerbaijan. Additionally, you can also search for rental listings in local newspapers and classifieds. Additionally, you can also contact real estate agents in Azerbaijan who specialize in rental properties. They can provide you with more information about available rental properties and help you find the perfect place to live," said one person in Azerbaijan.
