"It is important to research the cost of living and housing in Los Alcazares before moving. It is also important to know the language of the area, as Spanish is predominantly spoken in Los Alcazares. As Los Alcazares is close to the coast, it is important to try to organise health insurance that includes emergency medical care while at the beach or engaging in water sports. It is also important to familiarise yourself with the regulations and laws in Spain, as these may differ to other countries. The best way to integrate into the community is to get to know your neighbours and join local community activities. Public transport in the area can also be helpful to get around," explained one expat living in Los Alcazares, Spain.

"Decide what you want from the area first,do not buy the house then see if it offers what you want, location location. I choose the area because of sailing, and then formed the S.A.M.M sailing assoiciation.Which is based in Los Alcazares and has now over 150 family members. We now have a number of groups with 8 share owned boats,and members with privately owned boats," said one expat in Los Alcazares.

"Two bed terrace house with double garage 300m from the sea. Most expats look for 2-3 bed apartments or detached/semi-detached houses. I advise when doing business go to Spanish companies and keep away from British companies in Spain whatever you are buying," wrote one member in Los Alcazares.
