What do I need to know about living in Hyderabad?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Hyderabad, they said:

"Before retiring in Hyderabad, expats should be aware of the cost of living, the availability of healthcare, the climate, and the local culture. It is important to research the city and its neighborhoods to find the best fit for one's lifestyle. Additionally, expats should be aware of the visa requirements and the process for obtaining a visa. It is also important to familiarize oneself with the local language, as English is not widely spoken in Hyderabad. Finally, expats should be aware of the local laws and regulations, and ensure that they are compliant with them," commented one expat who made the move to Hyderabad.

"To get in touch with someone who has been or knows somebody in that city, before and after coming, as Indians are generally very hospitable and like to help others, The fact is that almost every second household has someone from the family settled abroad ( Worldwide )," remarked one expat living in Hyderabad, India.

"He can consider moving into the city, but I would advise him to stay in a place at least 20 km away. The city centre is highly polluted and traffic is CRAZY. For a comfortable living a couple has to earn a minimum of Rs 25 000," wrote one member in Hyderabad.
