"That is such a leading answer. The QRP package requires that you bring 2000 us dollars into the country per month. For those not taking the QRP package, and taking up plain residency (takes a year to do) , there are people living on a lot less than 2000 US and living comfortably," said one person in Belize City.

"The cost of living in Belize City is generally considered to be quite affordable. Basic necessities such as food, transportation, and utilities are relatively inexpensive compared to other cities in the region. Rent prices can vary depending on the area, but are generally quite reasonable. Eating out at restaurants is also quite affordable, with many local eateries offering meals for a fraction of the cost of similar restaurants in other countries," remarked one expat in Belize City.

"It has met our expectations and exceeded them, we live a good life, eat well, and are very happy," remarked one in Belize City.

"Living in Belize City can be significantly cheaper than living in the United States. The cost of living in Belize City is much lower than in the United States, with basic necessities such as food, housing, and transportation costing significantly less. Additionally, the cost of entertainment and leisure activities is also much lower in Belize City than in the United States. As a result, living in Belize City can be a great way to save money," explained one expat.

"MUCH LOWER! Property taxes are around 30 dollars a year!!! Car insurance is less than 150 a year! WOW!," said one expat in Belize City.

"The cost of housing in Belize City can vary greatly depending on the type of housing and the area. Generally, the average cost of housing in Belize City is relatively affordable compared to other cities in the region. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can range from $400 to $800 per month, while a three-bedroom apartment can range from $800 to $1,500 per month. Prices for houses in the city center can range from $1,500 to $3,000 per month. Prices for houses outside of the city center can range from $500 to $1,500 per month," remarked one in Belize City.

"The rental price for a nice 1 bedroom apartment in Belize City is typically around $500 to $700 per month, while a nice 2 bedroom apartment can cost around $700 to $900 per month," remarked one expat living in Belize City.

"In Belize City, rental properties typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Additionally, some properties may include a dishwasher, microwave, and air conditioning unit," commented one expat who moved to Belize City.
