Is the cost of living in Cap Estate high?
We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Cap Estate, they wrote:
"The cost of living in Cap Estate is considered to be relatively high compared to other parts of the island. This is largely due to its status as a luxury residential area, popular among expatriates and affluent locals. Housing costs, in particular, are quite high, with prices for both rentals and property purchases significantly above the island average. The cost of groceries and dining out is also higher than in other parts of Saint Lucia, reflecting the area's upscale nature. Imported goods, in particular, can be quite expensive. Transportation costs can vary. While owning and maintaining a vehicle can be costly, public transportation is relatively affordable. However, the frequency and reliability of public transport can be an issue. Utilities such as electricity, water, and internet are also a significant part of the cost of living. These services are generally reliable but can be expensive, particularly for larger properties. Despite the high cost of living, many residents feel that the benefits of living in Cap Estate, such as its beautiful surroundings, high-quality housing, and sense of community, make it worth the expense," remarked one in Cap Estate.
