Thirdly, consider hiring a doula or midwife who can provide additional support during pregnancy and childbirth. They can help you understand the local maternity system and advocate for your needs. Fourthly, learn about the maternity leave policies in Hungary. The country offers generous maternity leave benefits, but the rules may be different for expats. Check with your employer or the local labor office to understand your rights and obligations. Fifthly, prepare for the paperwork. Having a baby in a foreign country often involves a lot of bureaucracy. You will need to register the birth with the local authorities and with your home country's embassy or consulate. Make sure to keep all medical records and receipts, as they may be required for insurance or immigration purposes. Lastly, try to learn some Hungarian or find a local friend who can help you navigate the system.
