What are healthcare services like in Abaco Islands?
We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Abaco Islands. They wrote...
"Healthcare services in the Abaco Islands are limited due to the region's small population and remote location. The main healthcare facility is the Marsh Harbour Medical Centre, which provides basic medical care and emergency services. There are also a few private clinics and pharmacies available. For more serious conditions or specialized treatment, patients often have to be transported to Nassau or even to the United States. The government provides free healthcare for Bahamian citizens, but non-residents must pay for services. Despite these challenges, the healthcare staff in the Abaco Islands are known for their dedication and commitment to providing the best care possible under the circumstances," explained one expat living in Abaco Islands, Bahamas.
