What are healthcare services like in Kilkenny?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Kilkenny. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Kilkenny are comprehensive and accessible, with a mix of public and private providers. The city is home to St. Luke's General Hospital, which provides a range of services including emergency care, maternity services, and various medical and surgical specialties. There are also numerous general practitioners and specialist clinics throughout the city. Mental health services are provided through a combination of community-based services and inpatient care. Kilkenny also has several pharmacies, dental practices, and opticians. For elderly residents, there are a number of nursing homes and home care services available. The healthcare system in Kilkenny is part of the larger Irish healthcare system, which is funded through general taxation and overseen by the Health Service Executive," remarked another expat who made the move to Kilkenny, Ireland.
