What do I need to know before retiring in Montclair?

Answer this Question

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Montclair, they said...

"Before retiring in Montclair, expats should be aware that the cost of living is higher than the national average. They should also be aware that the town is very walkable and has a vibrant downtown area with plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Additionally, the town is well-connected to New York City, with a direct train line to Penn Station. Finally, the town is home to a diverse population, with a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds," remarked another expat who made the move to Montclair, the United States.

"Come to a hip, culturally-involved, family-oriented and active township. Be prepared for high-priced real estate (which continues to increase significantly in value!). Taxes are high due to the excellent schools. We have been described as the Upper West Side of the suburbs because of our diversity. It is a great place to live," explained one expat living in Montclair, US.
