What do I need to know before moving to Falmouth?
When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Falmouth, they said...
"Falmouth is a beautiful and diverse community offering many cultural experiences. It is important for expats moving to the area to research the culture and climate before arriving, as this will help them prepare for the transition. Although English is the official national language, Jamaican Patois is widely spoken throughout the country. It is important to understand the differences in language and customs in order to respect the local culture. Additionally, some of the key safety tips to keep in mind when relocating to Falmouth include avoiding traveling alone, being aware of your surroundings, and avoiding appearance of being wealthy. Finally, Jamaica is a very affordable place to live and has a range of rental options to suit any budget," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Falmouth, Jamaica, Jamaica.
"Keep in mind the location if you do not have a car. You will want to be close enough to public transportation. Route taxis (taxis that go along a specific route only) travel outside of many of the subdivisions/schemes and along main roads. If I can be of help to anyone, just let me know," commented one expat who made the move to Falmouth, Jamaica.
