When we asked members in Almaty if they typically need to travel to see specialists, they replied...

"Yes, there are a good number of medical specialists in Almaty. The city has a full range of medical professionals, ranging from family doctors to experts in various fields. For highly specialized medical care, people usually go to the Almaty City Cardiology Center, the National Research Oncology Center, and the National Research Children Cardiology Center. Highly trained specialists in areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology, oncology, and orthopedics are available at these centers.
