As a foreigner living in Amman, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Amman if they have access to public healthcare in Amman. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Amman, you will have access to public healthcare, but it is important to note that the quality of public healthcare facilities may not be up to the standards you are used to in your home country. Public hospitals in Amman are often crowded, and the quality of care can be inconsistent. Many expats and wealthier Jordanians prefer to use private healthcare facilities, which offer a higher standard of care and more modern equipment. It is recommended that you obtain comprehensive health insurance to cover the costs of private healthcare, as well as any potential medical evacuation expenses," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Amman, Jordan.
