What have your experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system been like?
When we asked expats and global nomads in Bogota about their experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system, they replied...
"The pandemic has had a significant impact on the healthcare system in Bogota. The healthcare system has been overwhelmed with the influx of patients, leading to long wait times and limited access to medical care. The government has implemented strict measures to contain the spread of the virus, including the closure of non-essential businesses and the restriction of movement. This has caused a strain on the healthcare system, as it has been unable to keep up with the demand for medical services. Additionally, the lack of resources has led to a shortage of medical supplies, such as masks and gloves, which has further hindered the ability of healthcare workers to provide adequate care. Despite these challenges, the healthcare system in Bogota has been able to provide essential services to those in need," remarked another expat who made the move to Bogota, Colombia.
"I traveled outside Bogota in a city called Fusagasuge° hospital was extremely bad and they did not my wife with covid-19. I immediately left the hospital and went to an official lab to get a proper diagnosis and it was negative for covid-19. Can't always trust hospitals in Columbia," explained one expat living in Bogota, Colombia.
