"Crime in Cyprus is relatively low compared to other countries in the region. The most common crimes are petty theft, burglary, and drug-related offenses. Violent crime is rare, and the overall crime rate is low. The police force is well-trained and effective in combating crime. The government has also implemented a number of measures to reduce crime, such as increased surveillance and tougher penalties for offenders," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Cyprus.
