We asked expats in Germany what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"Before retiring in Germany, expats should learn a basic understanding of the German language, especially if they plan on living in the country long-term. It is also important to research the different aspects of the German pension system and factor in the costs of living in a particular city or region. Expats should also familiarize themselves with the laws restricting healthcare and take time to understand the comprehensive healthcare system in Germany. Additionally, for those considering buying property in Germany, it is crucial to understand the taxation laws regarding real estate and be aware of both rental and purchasing costs. Lastly, expats should consider possible alternatives to Germany as a retirement destination, such as the other European countries that offer various benefits," remarked another expat who made the move to Germany.

"No. Only a bank that had a representative with good English and who came to our home to sign us up," explained one expat living in Munich, Germany.
