Junior architect desires Wien

Hello. Although I have always had the desire to live/work in Vienna since living there in 2003, I am new to the daunting logistics of fulfilling this goal now outside the world of study abroad. I'm nearing my 1st year anniversary as Junior Architect at a major international architecture firm located in Dallas, TX. Sadly, my firm doesnt have an Austrian office. I'd like to be living/working in Vienna in 2.5 to 3 years. I speak conversational German and will be starting classes shortly to strengthen my communication abilities.

What paths should I take to be successful at fulfilling this goal?

As an American citizen and with no prospects of transferring within a large company to an Austrian office, do I actually have a chance of doing what I want to do?

Sincerely,
Determined
