I have lived in U.S.A my entire life. I have travelled all over the country but never left it. I am giving up. Our society of divas, control freaks, and attention grabbers are ruining our country just as much as our incompetent and equally corrupt government.
I have a wife and 2 children that I want to take with me, but we don't know where to go. I have some liquid asset saved up and several more assets that I plan to sell off first as well. We want to assimilate somewhere else where community is mostly affected by community because we believe this offers the most "human" experience possible.
Somewhere that I can relocate to with my current funds, but not expect to live off of them as I should be able to find work in most any trade field with my experience. That said, we do not want work to dominate our lives simply for the need of money.
I know that I come equipped with typical American naivety about some of these things and almost surely I will never find this utopia that I seek. Maybe, though, someone can point me in the right direction for a starting point? Language is obviously a barrier so some English is important, thought I plan to learn the local language wherever I go. Somewhere I could homestead would be ideal. I would like to be a part of a real community and build a life for myself that is mostly self-reliant, though in an area where I can contribute to local society and not just be an American tourist that overstayed his welcome.
