For Hoppin' John

Likes - beautiful surroundings (reside in punta ballena), the weather (except winters can feel long & damp but without the snow & ice), "tranquilo" environment, fauna & foliage, wildlife (the birds are stunning here), non home contractor Uruguayans (nice & patient with your lack of Spanish), the Urguayans' focus on family & the ability to be away from the craziness of life in the 21st century in Western nations

Dislikes - errands take a long time b/c no focus on customer service & no attention given to effectiveness & efficiency, bureaucracy, chores take longer (clothes dryers are rarely used, washing machines take longer to do a load, cooking is completely from scratch, etc.), stagnant job market/economy, lack of variety in food relative to U.S., expensive electricity, home projects take forever (even to get a complete quote & Uruguayans do not work in rain, etc.), a lot of China junk options versus better quality & competitively priced options in U.S.

The U.S. Is in decline & on the verge of economic collapse for those that are paying attention to the "real" economic data versus the propaganda. The problems and poor quality of life that exist there now will only continue to increase & division of the people is necessary so the people do not get angry & unite to take their anger out on the Elites.

I have mourned the loss of a once great nation but the nation my husband & I loved has not existed for some time so the real Uruguay is superior to the real U.S. Any day, despite less choices, a more casual work ethic, higher electricity & more time spent on chores.

Hope that is useful & I am happy to answer any specific questions you may have. Best of luck with your research!
