Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Cyprus.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Cyprus.

In Cyprus, foreigners are allowed to drive if they hold a valid international driving license or a driving license from their home country if it is in English or Greek. If the license is not in English or Greek, it should be accompanied by an official translation or an International Driving Permit. The minimum age to drive in Cyprus is 18 years.

For EU citizens, their driving license is valid in Cyprus until its expiry date. Non-EU citizens can use their driving license for a period of up to six months from the date of their entry into Cyprus. After six months, they are required to obtain a Cypriot driving license.

It's important to note that driving is on the left-hand side of the road in Cyprus. Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers, and the use of a mobile phone while driving is prohibited unless using a hands-free device. Also, the drink-driving laws in Cyprus are very strict, and the penalties for exceeding the limit can be severe.

There are no specific requirements that differ based on the city, state, or region in Cyprus. The rules and regulations for driving are country-wide and apply to all areas of Cyprus.
