Research for future move

Hello to everyone! I plan to retire in 5 years and i am considering moving to the north coast of the Dominican Republic. Have visited for the last 3 years in Puerto Plata.
So here's the deal. I'm sick of winters and long to live in a warmer climate. I'm looking to live somewhere on the north coast. I'm looking to rent long term. As I was not the greatest saver I'm looking to live on my retirement income outside of town with my monthly rent less than $1000.00 US Dollars. Also would like to be near other expats...
