Info about moving to the DR

Hi Everyone,
My name is Blair. I am interested in moving in a few years probably to the Sosua area in Puerto Plata. I would love some guidance from any one that has any information to share for someone moving to the DR from the US. I am a medical professional. I am interested in learning what things I should definitely bring with me from the US and what I can purchase in the US for household items to start and also any ideas who to have ship my container to the DR and also anyone know of any good areas to rent an apartment while I am looking for a home to purchase?
