Grateful for your help ...

Hi,
my name is Tom, I am new to this forum and I would be grateful for some hints.

I intend to go to the DomRep in August this year. Currently I am selling all my goods and I claimed for the official visa two weeks ago here in Germany, where I am currently living.
In different posts / forums I read a lot about 'Lawyers' in the DomRep. Do you really need a lawyer to get visa things done?

Amassy told me, that I have to visit the immigration service the next day I arrive in Santo Domingo.
Has anybody made experience in this? Does it take a few days? I do not want to stay in Santo Domingo too long, but look for a flat in the north.

Everybody I contacted in DR told me, he knew a good lawyer.

If you have any good hint for me (but staying at home / too late ;-) ) I would be very grateful.

Best
Tom
