So many questions! Help me please!

I'm a college student planning on relocating to Costa Rica before the new school year starts in 2010. I already have a place to live and potential universities picked out, but what I need now is help figuring out details. For Example:

Do I need a student visa to go to a private university?

Do I need private health insurance in Costa Rica even though healthcare is public?

I take a prescription medication regularly. How do I get my prescription filled in CR?

What's the best/cheapeast way to move my belongings?

Sorry if that's a lot of questions for one post! There are so many more details to figure out than I thought haha!

Please respond to my post in any way you can. Thank you for all your help!

Your tourist visa will be enough to start. You will need a student visa when that expires. Apply at the school for a Student Temporary Pesidents Permit. (your school will have outlets an aids for that)

Although healthcare is national it does require that you pay. It should be $500-$800 per year for a healthy person your age.

It is quite possible that your prescription is OTC in Costa Rica! If not, you can order them from Canada or have a doctor set you up with a prescription like in the U.S.

For moving your belongings check out shipping household goods to Costa Rica. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SolPropertyGroup/message/7

You need to buy health insurance in case of emergency...try BUPA, for example. I am from Costa Rica but n ow live in UAE so I do not know about the visa requisites for entering the University (which Univ will you enter)? Careful about moving your belongings...give it a try first. AL

We used shipcostarica.com to move to CR with great success, however, we used www.intermoves-sgcr.com for the return to the states with horrible results. They changed pricing, held our things hostage, and stole several thousand dollars of tools, stereos, etc from us. They refused to do anything about it.
