visiting in the green season

Hello Everyone! Just a quick question - we plan to visit Costa Rica next year during the green (rainy!) season, to see how we like it, plus the prices are lower then. We were thinking of going for the last 2 weeks of August. What are some of you folks' thoughts on this? We definitely will avoid October, since we have been told & have read that the rains are torrential! We still want to see alot of wildlife & investigate where to live (probably Atenas/Grecia/Heredia, etc).
