Would Like info on import taxes

Hi
I am hoping to make the jump to Costa Rica, but I have questions.
How much would it cost to import some electronic equipment there. My husband is an electrical engineer and has some "stuff" test equipment and various gadgets that I don't pretend to understand. Is it a problem to import some belongings?
I'm way new to all of this and sort of lost and overwhelmed.
We would probably be interested in living away from a city. I have a 10 year old daughter, so school is a consideration. I like rural areas. Heat and humidity are not problems for us, we like both. I'm not interested in living too close to beaches.
