Recommendation for Hotels

We will be arriving in Costa Rica on 22 March and would appreciate any recommendations for hotels for the first night or two. Looking for reasonable costs, and safe area. Do the hotel's have a shuttle that will pick you up at the airport? If not, are there taxi's that are safe and dependable? thanks for any info you can provde.
